The pitch

Built so a teacher can teach at 2 a.m.

The reality of modern public education is that a high-school biology teacher opens her laptop at 11 p.m., needs a 40-minute lesson on cell membranes for tomorrow, and has zero budget for textbooks. Every Mad Sci Hub lesson is built for that moment: one clean URL, one embedded video, one self-grading quiz, one printable PDF, one optional certificate the student can post to LinkedIn.

We don’t sell to schools. We don’t sell to students. We don’t run ads. The whole library is CC0 — free to reuse, free to remix, no attribution required. The bills get paid by sponsors who appear in the site header, the sponsor index, and the description of every new video.

The model is built for the long run. Every new lesson makes the next one easier to find. Every backlink from a teacher’s blog makes the next sponsor more valuable. Compounding, not virality, is the plan.

“The cheapest way to teach a country is to give the teachers something they can paste.” — Mad Sci Hub operating thesis

Bioelectricity BioHacker Course · Lesson 01

The cells in your body talk to each other in millivolts. What are they saying?

EN · ~7 min read · 5-Q quiz · CC0

Every cell in your body holds a tiny electrical charge across its membrane — about −70 millivolts. That voltage is not a side-effect. It’s a signal. And it might be a target.

How this stays free · Sponsor ladder

Sponsor a topic. Reach the classroom.

Every Mad Sci Hub lesson gets pasted into LMSes by teachers we will never meet. Each paste is roughly 30 page-views on our domain — permanently, semester after semester. Sponsors appear on that domain. No hard slot caps; price is the filter.

We don’t accept crypto, MLM, or supplement sponsors. Manual review on every tier. The list reshuffles weekly — the top tier is permanent.

Reasonable questions

Things teachers, sponsors, and skeptics ask.

Is this really free? Where’s the catch?
Free forever. The catch is that sponsor logos appear on the site header, sponsor index, and in the descriptions of new videos. None of that touches the lesson body. Students never see a paywall, ad-roll, or signup gate.
Can I use this in my classroom without permission?
Yes. Every lesson is CC0 — public domain. Reuse, remix, translate, print, white-label. No attribution required. The whole point is to lower friction.
How does the certificate work?
Each lesson has a 5-question self-grading quiz. A student who gets 4 of 5 right can enter their name and generate a verified certificate with a unique hash. Teachers can verify any certificate at /verify/{hash}. No login, no email collection.
Will sponsor logos appear inside the lesson text?
No. Sponsors live in the site chrome and the new-video description block. Lesson bodies stay clean. We do this so a teacher can confidently paste any URL into a school LMS without worrying about commercial bleed.
Are you replacing my textbook?
No. We’re a complement — a free explainer with video, quiz, and cert that lives next to whatever curriculum you already use. Teachers assign one lesson the way they’d assign one YouTube video, except that the URL doesn’t go through ads.
Who’s behind this?
One person, building daily. Python pipeline + Claude + image-gen + TTS + render. No VC funding, no school district contract, no curriculum board. Solo operator who would rather burn $0 for ten years than charge teachers.
